today’s blog I want to all about my writing, blogging, and so on, where it might take me, what my plans are, and what dreams/goals I have.
I haven’t been blogging long as you know, and I’m still new to this, sometimes I’m not even sure if I know what I’m doing.
So let's start at the beginning, while I was serving as a service missionary I had the opportunity to write an article for the Liahona, the Liahona is a worldwide magazine for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, each area has local pages so here in the UK it would be the UK and Ireland pages within the magazine.
My first article was submitted in January 2022 and published in June 2022, and just recently my 2nd article has come out! It's in paper form already, again I submitted it in January 2023 and is now published in the June 2023 Liahona.
My first comment about my writing skills came from a close friend of mine, she had read my 1st article and complemented my work and it made me feel so happy that she had loved it. Obviously, she isn’t the only one who loved it, a lot of others did as well, now this is where it gets interesting. When I finished my mission, I gave my homecoming talk and this is when I got more comments about my skills and my talents, I was complemented by how I am able to articulate myself well and how I am able to put things into words. I was also complimented how with my skills/ talents in writing how I could write a book someday, or something even bigger or more amazing!
I think I have a lot of people who have recognized and seen this talent of mine in writing articles, or blogs, or talks. How it could lead to big things one day. With my recent article in the Liahona I have let people know that I am working on a 3rd, and how for as long as I shall live, I will keep pushing myself to keep getting an article in the Liahona. I have found joy in this and I know I don’t need to justify why I’m doing it but for as long as I find joy I want to keep going. I wasn’t to keep submitting articles. I want to “aim high” because the more recognition I get for a church magazine I may one day be able to publish an article for a real-world magazine. who knows.
As far as dreams and goals go, I do wish to publish an article in a magazine one day, and of Corse the sound of writing a book sounds amazing! But what would the book be about? All in all, I don’t know what the future holds for me, I don’t know if I’m doing this whole blogging thing correctly or how to progress further like reaching new people, how to get noticed so on and so forth. but I know I enjoy blogging and I enjoy submitting articles for people to read, and for as long as I find joy, I want to continue to do it.
Blogging for instance is great for me at the moment, it's such an outlet and a way to express my thoughts and inspiration, it's where I can talk about whatever, whenever I like. In a way it's like its own creative outlet but creative in its own way, this is why I call my page “Emily’s world” because when you come and read my blogs you are coming and entering my world. Every word you read on these pages has come from my brain and inspiration sometimes it flows and makes sense but then other times it might not flow, however, I always aim to make my writing gel and flow with ease so that for those of you who are reading enjoy and love what’s Infront of your very eyes!
in closing today's blog, I know I don’t need to justify what I do or why I love it, I just to embrace it all and take it in. I am sure I will find ways to reach new people who will share my blogs to help support me with where I want to go with my writing and blogging.
But for now, I hope you have all loved today's blog!

p.s the gallery below I have added images from my recent article, and last year's article!
Dear Emily, as someone who failed at writing in school and now write regular columns for women's magazines, I can tell you from personal experience, to keep on following your heart. Keep writing, crafting your articles and of course sending them to magazines, in that way your dreams will come true much quicker than you expect. All the best.
